Belt conveyor belting slides on a pan or rolls on rollers. The advantages of belt conveyor include: economical, ruged, dependable, versitile, etc. Belt conveyor can handle a wide variety of product but are limited to lighter products than live roller or chain conveyor.

Roller beds can convey heiver product loads due to the reduced friction. They also require less horsepower to move the same product as a slider bed. The advantage of the slider bed is the economical cost of ownership and the reduced cost of maintenance.

Belt conveyors are the best and most economical choice for bulk handling items. Some bulk product cannot be conveyed on floor conveyor due to the nature of the product. But if a belt conveyor can be used the cost savings is substantial.
